The truth is finally coming out.

After making headlines for proposing to Nicki Minaj on MTV, DJ Khaled is finally admitting it was all a big publicity stunt (as if we didn’t know this).

In a recent interview with Richmond radio host TT Torrez, DJ Khaled admitted he made the proposal video in an effort to promote his new record “I Wanna Be With You” featuring Nicki Minaj, Future, and Rick Ross.

“I was joking. We be so busy making these big hits, I wanted to come with a dope plan to present the next smash record.”

When asked about what he was going to do with the huge diamond ring he was supposed to be giving Nicki (before she denied him), he stated:

“What’s the saying? ‘Women’s best friends is diamonds?’ I’m just gonna add that diamond to one of my pinky rings or one of my necklaces, you know what I’m saying? You know, I love diamonds too.”

Welp, there you have it. It was all a big joke, and there won’t be a Nicki and Khaled wedding.

If Khaled pulled off a fake marriage proposal to promote a new single, we’re actually pretty scared of the next stunt he’ll pull to promote his new album, Suffering From Success, which drops September 24.
