She may be twerkin’ her way from New York to Los Angeles and back, but don’t let all that booty poppin’ and grill wearing fool you; Miley Cyrus is not just some ratchet white girl.

Still buzzing high off the success of her newly released single “We Won’t Stop,” Miley Cyrus snagged the cover spot of Notion Magazine, where the artist formally known as Hannah Montana spoke about her new life in the spotlight and how she’s changed since her Disney days.

Miley has been catching heat from fans of her younger years, but she wants to make a few things clear: she isn’t partying – she’s working hard! She tells the mag:

“People have this misconception of me that I’m just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I’m just this ratchet white girl, and I’m not.  I work really really hard, I’m just in a different environment. I’m young and living and in LA which is everyone’s dream, you know.”

Miley also reveals that she was considering dropping her last name and going for a singular name a-la Cher.

“I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley, but there’s something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name. I’m living it to the fullest. Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it’s just like this is what this name is now.”

Miley has been no-holds-barred with her interviews as of late! Check out the full issue of Notion when it hits stands in hard copy on August 29th, or order the web version here.
