Just like she got rid of her long locks of red hair, Miley Cyrus has thought about getting rid of her last name Cyrus.

The move was considered in an effort to distance herself from her childhood image when she played Disney’s Hanna Montana.

“I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley but there’s something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name,” she said (quote via Capital FM). “People have this misconception of me that I’m just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I’m just this ratchet white girl, and I’m not.”

Even though Miley Cyrus has become such a household name that rappers like Jay Z find themselves making references to the 20-year-old, we at GlobalGrind like the idea of Miley Cyrus going by the mononymous “Miley!”

And there’s nothing wrong with a name change – whether it’s omitting a part of your name or adopting a new moniker – there’s a bunch of celebrities who had the thought and actually went for it. That is why we at GlobalGrind decided to compile a list of celebs who will definitely have the “We Can’t Stop” singer wanting to remix her name into one of the dope ass monos of the world.

Check out the list below!

Sean Combs changed his name from Puff Daddy to P. Diddy to Diddy.

Common was originally Common Sense.

Bow Wow was originally Lil Bow Wow.

Romeo was originally Lil Romeo.

Snoop Dogg was originally Snoop Doggy Dogg and recently changed his name to Snoop Lion for his reggae album Reincarnated.

Ron Artest legally changed his name to Metta World Peace.

Lana Del Rey was formerly Lizzie Grant.

2 Chainz was formerly known as Tity Boi.

Prince changed his name to a symbol – being recognized as the artist formerly known as Prince – and back to Prince once more.

Jay-Z changed his name to Jay Z.

Oprah didn’t really change her name. But when’s the last time you heard anybody say “Oprah Winfrey!” Oprah is one of the most epic mononyms out there.
