When 106 & Park hit the Black Entertainment Network back in 2000, we were coming down off the glee of the ’90s, and overcoming the shock of the Y2K threat. But as long as we were religiously tuning in to catch AJ Calloway and Free count down our favorite music videos and interview the biggest stars of the moment, we were in the know.

A lot has changed in 13 years, and the hosts of the show have rotated as well. After Free and AJ made their departure in 2005, the show saw a rotation of hosts from Julissa and Big Tigger, to the 6-year OGs Terrence J and Rocsi Diaz. But the latest re-occurring guest host is keeping us tuned to our screens.

After the mysterious rotating out of a full cast of characters, Angela Simmons has filled the slot, periodically joining friend and co-host Bow-Wow (the artist formerly known as Lil Bow Wow) as a guest hostess on the music video countdown show.

Chronicling her feats from a reality television star to a young entrepreneur and designer, the addition of “TV host” to her repertoire should come as no surprise. But aside from her work ethic, one thing we are repeatedly enthralled with is Angela’s wardrobe selection for her 106 & Park appearances.

From sporty chic to classy and sometimes nerdy glam, Angela’s style brings something new to the 106 stage. Check out some of her looks below.

Angela teased the blonder moments to come with this ultra curly look paired with a printed oversize woven shirt and black skinny jeans.

Kelly Rowland’s creepers were talking a good game, but Angela’s orange platforms were bringing a lot of spice to this laid back summer look.

Kevin Hart’s styling Kenzo shirt was no distraction from this sexy gray and black look that Angela paired with another pair of orange heels.

Sometimes playing the girly girl isn’t as fun as being the tomboy. Angela switched roles (and hair) in these black leggings and red Reeboks.

And again when she opted for this mesh and faux leather look.

And she paid homage to Trayvon Martin’s legacy in a very serious all-black romper the Monday after the trial verdict was reached. (We spy another pair of orange pumps!)

And while some things are very serious, it’s also OK to get a little playful with clothing selections, like this fun nerdy look complete with the UO Cooperative Grey Suzy Sweater with Glasses Print.

We could go on-and-on with looks from the 106 stage! Kudos to Angela and her stylist for keeping it both stylish and fun.
