Only a day till the action-packed movie Elysium is out, and we got the inside scoop from one of its stars, Sharlto Copley.
Copley tells us about the challenges of his role, and what he had to do to get into character. He goes into how he’s used to channeling his energy in a positive way, as in District 9, though in Elysium, he had to learn to channel his energy in a negative direction.
“I suppose a lot of it was tapping into having grown up in a very violent country, with very turbulent sort of environment, and having to I suppose tap into that side of myself as well,” he says.
Epic action scenes with Matt Damon are filled with “UFC style” fighting, which Copley learned from fighter Rampage Jackson.
“[There were] No crazy accidents, because it was very much like UFC style fighting we were going for; much more sort of down and dirty and wrestling in the suits,” he says.
