Media mogul Oprah Winfrey recently sat down with legendary Hip-Hop journalist Shaheem Reid on his latest Round-Up series.

The two discussed the new film The Butler and how it addresses racism, they even touched upon Jay Z‘s recent feud with Harry Belafonte. We all know Oprah is no stranger to dealing with racism, as she recently endured it in Switzerland while shopping for an item that apparently seemed too expensive for her.

But, here is what Ms. Winfrey had to say about The Butler:

“The essence of this film is that there are all kinds of warriors, you know those people who went into work everyday maids and butlers and taking everybody’s stuff and allowing themselves to be put in a position where they were made to feel less than every single day of their lives.. and then to have courage to go in and  say you know, I think the colored deserved to have the same amount of money the whites”

In regards to the controversy between the Jigga man and Belafonte she stated:

“Jay uses his music, he uses his life, he uses his art-fullness his ability as a business man that is his protest against all the indignities not only he has suffered but generations before him have suffered.. not everyone has the same way. “
