During the event, the foundation honored Lucian Grainge, CBE Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, Janice Bryant Howroyd CEO and Founder of ACT-1 Group the nation’s largest female minority run business, actress Rashida Jones and Mohannad Malas Founder and CEO of IRA Capital and Dana Investments.

There to help honor the honorees were 200 guests, and among them were some famous faces which included Marlon Wayans, Kimora Lee Simmons (with all three beautiful kids – Ming Lee, Aoki Lee and Kenzo Lee), Sir Sidney Poitier, Andre Harrell, David Foster, L.A. Reid, Macy Gray, Affion Crockett and Steve Rifkind.

As a surprise, Russell received an award from the FFEU and a special Proclamation from the Mayor and City of L.A. congratulating him on 10 years as Chairman of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.
