The attorney for Trayvon Martin‘s family has spoken out about the stop-and-frisk programs in NYC which have been argued to be considered “racial profiling”.

Benjamin Crump recently went on NBC’s Meet The Press where he discussed the program that involves cops being allowed to stop and search those they feel are threatening.

He said on the show:

“No matter what you want to call it, essentially it’s racial profiling. And we know Trayvon Martin was profiled for something that night on February 26, 2012. And he had broken no laws. He was just walking home. That’s the problem with racial profiling. It’s a slippery slope. And it’s so bad for so many in the community.”

Many commentators have said that the stop-and-frisk program has drawn lines from the Trayvon Martin shooting and after George Zimmerman was found not guilty of his murder.

What do you guys think of stop-and-frisk? Agree with Mr.Crump?
