Captain Save-A-Disney Star to the rescue!

Since Miley Cyrus stepped off the 2013 MTV VMA stage, she hasn’t been able to catch a break. From hilarious comparisons to Jim Carrey’s character on the ’90s comedy series In Living Color to ridiculous doppelgangers, Miley has been the butt of countless internet jokes all week (pun completely intended).

In the wake of her twerking disaster, Justin Timberlake has come to Miley’s defense. In a recent interview, Justin was asked about Miley’s less than classy VMA performance and he responded:

“Listen, man, you know, it’s the VMAs. What did you guys expect? I like Miley. I like her a lot. I think, you know, she’s young. She’s letting everybody know that she’s growing up. I just think it’s the VMAs. It’s not like she did it at the Grammys. Let her do her thing, you know?”

Now, if Miley was twerking at the Grammys, that would have just been the WORST thing in the world, but if you want to be ratchet, the VMAs is obviously the award show to do so.

Besides standing up to the critics for Miley, JT’s been busy putting the finishing touches on his new album, The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, which drops September 30th.

Justin’s also gearing up to hit the road for his “The 20/20 Experience World” tour, which starts October 31st.

Any thoughts on Justin’s defense of Miley’s twerking? If so, share them below.
