All it took was a verse, and the late night shows start calling.
Last night, Kendrick Lamar appeared on Chelsea Lately. Obviously, Kendrick doesn’t have a project to promote, so the topic of discussion was current events.
When it comes to Miley’s performance, Kendrick said:
“It was shocking, very shocking…It didn’t get in the way of what I was doing, but I definitely was interested.”
As for the “Control” verse, Kendrick kept it pretty short, saying:
“I basically wanted to show that I’m competitive. That keeps the level of hip-hop alive as far as the culture.”
The interview is brief, but they touch on a good amount of topics, including K.Dot’s upbringing and his dreams, when he was a kid, of wanting to be Michael Jordan.
