Riddick is the third installment to a series of films, including Pitch Black (2000) and The Chronicles Of Riddick (2004), in which the actor reprises his title role as the left for dead anti-hero. Riddick is the universe’s most wanted male, as he dodges threats from mythical animals and humans alike. Despite the extended gap between the series of films, movie critics agree Diesel is stronger, faster and better than ever in Riddick.
Since the previous installments were released prior to social media’s jump in popularity, Diesel had no opportunity to do any self-promotion of his starring roles via cyberspace. However, now that Twitter and Facebook are two of the largest social media networks, the actor uses them to his advantage – from dropping hints regarding a possible 2017 Marvel film collab, to giving Fast & Furious devotees news of a possible lucky number 7 addition to the action series.
And with a huge fan following like his, of course the world has responded favorably to Diesel’s brilliant usage of social media, as his likes on Facebook have climbed to an ultimate high, brimming at 46 million. How about chronicling the volumes of Diesel?!
With his new sci-fi action thriller, star on the Walk of Fame and superior social media presence, Vin Diesel is certainly a winner on and off the big screen. For more of his larger than life persona, check out Riddick when it hits theaters on September 6th.
