Somebody wasn’t paying attention during yesterday’s Syria Senate hearing. While foreign policy and military officials debated on whether or not to use military force against Syria, Rep. John McCain was busy playing poker on his iPhone. A Washington Post photographer captured the moment and after being caught in the act, McCain tweeted this: Scandal! Caught playing iPhone game at 3+ hour Senate hearing – worst of all I lost! [WashPost]

Well here’s another reason rape is bad (not that we needed one). Richard Thomas, a convicted rapist from the UK, is upset after learning that he may have contracted HIV from the woman he assaulted. The 27-year-old was sentenced to five years and four months for raping the victim while she slept, but it was the news of the virus that made him collapse in front of officers. Lesson here: just don’t rape people. Period. [Telegraph]

And on our side of the pond, three suburban high school soccer players from Boston are being accused of using a broomstick to rape one freshman boy and attempting to rape two others last week at a sports team-building retreat. The three defendants then tried to convince the accusers not to report the attack. These two wannabe robbers got the surprise of their life when the tables turned…and they got their asses whooped. Bad! The teenagers tried to mug two victims at gunpoint, but when police arrived, the only battered and bloody people were the assailants. See how it all went down…[Gawker]
