Remember the site we told you about earlier this week that helped rich people avoid poor areas and people in real time?

Well the Tallahassee man responsible for the startup took it down, saying that it wasn’t worth the trouble if he was going to be hit with the scathing criticism that came with it.

But he was just pulling our leg because Ghetto Tracker (or Good Part Of Town as it is now titled) is back and apparently stronger than ever.

A new message on the homepage says, “We’re revamping the site to make it even better. Please check back soon!” with a quote from a “private Internet business” called USA Tourist to bolster the idea that he’s trying to help travelers avoid unsafe areas.

And to prove that, yes, this site does have some racial or discriminative undertones, he added this lovely video to demonstrate how his creation could save you some trouble.

Oh wait. That’s not all!

There’s more where that came from: the tumblr Public Shaming has screengrabs from GhettoTracker’s now deleted Facebook page. One of the images he posted of kids trying to cool off in a makeshift swimming pool is not a picture from an American “ghetto.” The earliest result from a reverse image search on Google is a vile 4chan thread from 2010. I’m not saying that’s where he got the image from, just that the man who set out to identify “ghettos” doesn’t much care to check his sources.

He also customized a message for users who logged onto GhettoTracker via Facebook: “We’ll never post anything to your wall without you knowing because that’s ghetto lame.”

So, tell me again how this site isn’t a mess through and through?
