Fashion Week is all about new designs, but it’s also about the hair, makeup and nail trends that often play second fiddle to the new threads on display. Isn’t that what uplifts the aesthetic? This proved to be the case at CZAR by Cesar Galindo, as the designer illuminated a beautiful spectrum of models in womanly silhouettes with heavenly shimmered faces.

On Day 5 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City, CZAR took over the Box in Lincoln Center for a presentation of their Spring / Summer 2014 collection, complete with regal pleated maxi dresses, athletic inspired playsuits, and enough laid back glam for the masses.

CZAR by Cesar Galindo, his secondary women’s collection, is relatively new considering its October 2011 launch, but nothing about the line, which consists predominately of dresses and soft separate components, even mutters novice.

Trends spotted: Boxy fits, printed rompers, pleated maxi dresses, bold colors, blended prints.

My rating: CZAR’s collection was fun, airy, and made for a girl on the go who still needs a little glamour in her day. I could see myself in more than a few of these looks

My favorite look: While it was easy to be distracted by the flowing allure of the maxi dresses as the models spun about in them, the simplicity of the white sequin shift dress with the mesh collared details stole my heart.
