    Robin Thicke Blurred Lines Video

It looks like not everyone fell under the addictive “Blurred Lines” spell that the rest of the country did!

The student union of Edinburgh University has decided to ban Robin Thicke‘s hit song “Blurred Lines” from being played at the campus since they believe it trivializes rape.

According to the NY Daily News, a DJ was told to take the song off a playlist midway through a dance night the University.

    The site reports:

The ban is reportedly part of the Student Association’s new policy to “End Rape Culture and Lad Banter on Campus.”

In a release on the Student Association’s website, the organization noted that the campaign was aimed “against myths and stereotypes around sexual violence” and “to support women’s campaigns across the campus and Edinburgh to stand up against …misogynist views.”

On top of it all, the University is even more offended by the music video for the song as one student listed it as “kind of rapey”.

Yikes! Hopefully Robin Thicke can have another #1 hit that the students of Edinburgh can play!
