On Monday morning the mood in Washington D.C. was confusion, as calls about a gunman shooting one victim at the Navy Yard spread throughout the city.
One victim turned into four by the afternoon. And when all was said and done, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed that 13 people had been shot and killed, including the gunman, in what President Obama called “yet another mass shooting in America.”
