Police have yet to find a motive in the Navy Yard massacre that occurred earlier this week, but we are learning more and more about shooter Aaron Alexis’ battle with mental illness.

Turns out the civilian contractor was kicked out of a military housing complex in Rhode Island after he complained about hearing noises coming from the linen closet.

He had also told police that three people were following him with a microwave machine.

According to the Daily Mail, he also got into a bit of an argument with a family at the airport around the same time he was kicked out of the  Naval Bachelor Enlisted Quarters.

Michael Boyd, 52, of Birmingham, Alabama said Alexis confronted them from 40 yards away as they waited to board a flight because he thought his Boyd’s wife Glynda was laughing at him.

“He stood in front of us,” Glynda Boyd said. “He was no more than two feet away from us, and he would just keep saying, ‘Is she laughing at me?’ And we were like, ‘No’ Then he just got angry…You could tell his behavior, something wasn’t right with him mentally.”

The report was filed, but it does not mention Alexis by name.

Three days later he went to the police to tell them the strange tale about the microwave machine.

Still, no one helped Alexis.

Investigators are still trying to determine what his motive was, and how someone with a history of battling mental health and gun violence could slip through the cracks.
