From Kanye West’s Yeezus to Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail to Drake’s just-released Nothing Was the Same, hip-hop has really had itself a stellar year.
And yet, among all of those releases, Pusha T, who’s getting ready to drop his solo debut album, My Name is My Name, thinks that he’s going to have the album of the year.
He revealed this in a recent interview with VH1. During the sit-down, Pusha said that he was disappointed that his album got pushed back from its July release, because he wanted his album out with the heavy hitters. (Jay and Kanye both dropped their albums in the summer).
After that, the rapper proclaimed his LP was the “hip-hop album of the year,” something we’ve heard from other rappers before.
We guess we’ll find out on October 8th, or whenever it springs a leak.
