It’s been a couple of months since Glee star Cory Monteith passed away from a drug overdose in his Vancouver, Canada hotel room and now, more details are in.

The final coroner’s report reveals that just before he died, Cory, 31, was shooting up heroin and drinking champagne. According to TMZ, when ambulances arrived on the scene it was messy and full of drugs, and by the sound of the report, the mix of alcohol and heroin is what killed the actor:

“They discovered a ‘spoon with drug residue and a used hypodermic needle.’ They also found 2 empty champagne bottles and glasses. The coroner lists Monteith’s official cause of death as mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol.'”

The site goes on to note that the coroner’s report confirms Cory:

“had a history of illicit drug use with intermittent periods of rehabilitation and of abstinence from drugs.”

Apparently, Cory’s substance abuse tolerance may have been lowered due to a recent stint in rehab, during which he stopped using any and all drugs.

This is so sad – we will always remember Cory for the great talent and nice guy he was.
