After making headlines week after week since her big MTV VMA’s performance, it seems like no surprise that Miley Cyrus hosted the first episode of the new season of SNL last night.

The former Disney star came out for her monologue, which definitely got a couple of laughs, and she looked determined to show everyone that she was a great choice for a host.

Miley joked that she’s so over twerking because white people started doing it and even addressed her VMA’s performance, saying that she got letters from angry mothers and turned on fathers.

We even got an update as to what happened to her Disney character Hannah Montana since the show ended years ago.

She also finally did a skit with the rest of the cast called “We Did Stop” which is a parody of her hit song and an imitation of the government shutdown.

Later on in the show, Miley performed her two hit songs “Wrecking Ball” and an acoustic version of “We Can’t Stop” to show off some of her vocals.

Her new album Bangerz hits stores next Tuesday, and it’s clear that she can’t wait for her fans to hear her new stuff!
