So much for “till death do us part.”

A 34-year-old from Edinburg, Texas allegedly staged his own kidnapping last Tuesday to get away from his wife and party with his friends. No…this really happened.

Rogelio Andaverde had his buddies, who were all dressed up in masks and toting guns, break into his home while his wife was there and take him away at gunpoint.

Of course, the woman called 911 and police were sent out across the neighborhood to look for Andaverde. But they grew suspicious when they couldn’t find any leads. Then, like nothing ever happened, Andaverde showed up.

He reportedly told his wife that his kidnappers showed mercy and set him free. But later he allegedly confessed that he lied about the kidnapping so he could go out on the town with his buddies. He also reportedly said he was afraid of his wife.

Needless to say, police aren’t too happy with him. He was charged with making a false report and deputies are now looking for his kidnappers, er, friends for questioning.

“We have people file false reports all the time, and we put them in jail for it,” Hidalgo County Sheriff Guadalupe Treviño told The Monitor. “But I’ve never had someone do it just to get out of the house.”

Damn. Things must be really bad at home!
