Hey readers, here’s your “WTF” statement for today.
During the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC today, the famed Dr. Ben Carson had some harsh words about Obamacare and what it’s doing to this nation. And apparently, it’s just as bad as centuries worth of slavery.
“Obamacare is really, I think, the worst thing to happen to the nation since slavery,” Carson said, speaking at the Values Voter Summit.
Carson, ever the conservative commentator (and newly hired by Fox News), continued:
“And it is slavery, in a way because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.”
Oh. And there was this too:
During an address punctuated with cheers, Carson also said that there’s no such thing as a “war on women.” Smiling, he noted that pregnant women are typically treated politely, and said that the real war is on unborn children.
By the way, even though this is the man who broke down barriers for African-Americans in the medical field, he’s also the same guy who had to withdraw as graduation speaker at Johns Hopkins University because he mentioned bestiality and pedophilia to argue why gay marriage was wrong.
In other words, he needed to have a seat a long time ago. Time to be on the right side of history again, Dr. Carson.
