What started out on a high note for Christina Milian and her partner Mark Ballas took a turn for the worse as week five of Dancing With The Stars came to a close.

The theme of this week’s episode was “Most Memorable Year Of My Life.” Each star chose a song that premiered during that special year, and as the episode played out, our stars took us on an emotional journey through both happy and sad times in their lives.

Christina and her partner started off the night, taking the stage first. As we took a peek into their prep for this week’s practice, viewers learned a little bit about Christina’s journey they may not have previously known.

For her year, Christina chose 2010 – one that was both incredibly joyous for her and deeply sad. In 2010, Christina gave birth to her adorable daughter Violet; but it’s also the year she and rapper The-Dream ended their marriage.

Rather than hit the stage with an emotional song and dance, Christina and Mark chose to rock it out to Cee-Lo’s “Forget You.” Their fun-filled and flawless dance earned them the first 10 of the season from Len Goodman, bringing their total score to a 28.

Though they were the top scorers for the evening and have stayed somewhere around the top of the leader board for most of the competition, they were unable to garner enough viewer votes to stay on the show.

Unfortunately Christina and her partner were sent packing! Eight contestants still remain.
