The confession heard around the internet has given the family of Vincent Canzani peace.

After going viral with his confession of drinking and driving, which led to him crashing into and killing Canzani22-year-old Matthew Cordle will serve six and a half years in an Ohio state prison.

Cordle first made headlines last month, when he posted a confession about him drinking and driving after a night out with friends. Cordle proceeded to drive the wrong way down the highway, killing 61-year-old Vincent Canzani in his inebriated state.

According to NBC4, Cordle’s alcohol level was extremely high at the time of the accident — a level that Cordle knew would have him arrested.

On September 18, Cordle pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs in connection with the death of 61-year-old Vincent Canzani. The indictment indicated that Cordle had a blood alcohol level of .191 at the time of the crash.

The confession was posted on Sept. 3, and Cordle turned himself in on Sept. 9. He has also lost his driving privileges for life.
