Not since Jackie Kennedy have we seen a First Lady who has managed to capture the hearts of the American people quite like Michelle Obama. Her ability to become the backbone of America as our stunning First Lady doesn’t trump Michelle’s ability to be a fly FLOTUS in the fashion department either.

Another notable who parallels in fashion relevance in the model world (anger issues aside) is none other than the iconic Naomi Campbell. The model was tapped by W Magazine to channel the First Lady’s fashion. The supermodel takes a FLOTUS-worthy wardrobe on a diplomatic mission to Ghana and in the ads, posed off in items such as a lace bra-revealing Armani jacket, Marc Jacobs heeled Mary Janes, and a number of sleek, sexy separates.

We’d suggest a more dazzling mane for the First Lady, though.

After being in the spotlight for such an amazing shoot, Naomi hit a bit of a bump in the road with her latest cover of VOGUE Thailand. The new cover shows the model looking a bit…altered…in what some are calling lightened skin and eyes.

The cover undoubtedly was over-shopped, but also a reminder that even when you’re the most famous supermodel in the world, sometimes even that’s not good enough to meet the ever-demanding “beauty standard.”

What are your thoughts on the cover and the spread?
