A federal law enforcement official has revealed some chilling details about the gunman who opened fire in Terminal 3 at LAX.

Witnesses say the gunman asked people if they were TSA. When they replied no, he moved on. CNN is confirming that the suspect was targeting TSA agents. However, we cannot confirm whether he was an off-duty TSA agent or former employee, as some reports have suggested.

It is being reported that the LAX shooting suspect is 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia. More details to come.

UPDATE 2:55 PM EST

Police have confirmed that the gunman at LAX acted alone. The Police Chief also confirmed that one TSA agent was shot and killed and three others were injured. The agent that was killed was the first TSA agent ever to be killed in the line of duty.

Flights out of LAX will be significantly delayed today. The investigation continues.

NBC is reporting that one TSA agent who was shot has died. Another agent was injured in the shooting.

On Friday morning, police responded to shots at L.A. International Airport that resulted in the evacuation of Terminal 3.

According to KTLA, a TSA agent was shot, however, the LAPD confirms that the shooting is a “multi-patient incident, confirming that at least three individuals were injured. Sources tell the Los Angeles Times that the suspect has been wounded. A second suspect was taken into custody.

Officers can be seen responding to the scene with their guns drawn. Ambulances and first responders laid out green, yellow and red tarps, which are usually set up for mass casualty incidents.

Flights are prohibited from entering or leaving the airport.
