So is 2013 Halloween just going to be the year of extremely offensive costumes?

The mom of a seven-year old boy from Virginia dressed him up for Halloween this year in a Ku Klux Klan costume. Yup!

Jessica Black, from Craigsville, says her son, Jackson who is seven actually asked if he could dress as a member of the white supremacist group, so she decided to make him the costume. It get’s better… she says it’s “family tradition.”

The mom says:

‘My brother dressed up as a member of the KKK when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13,’

After a reporter from WHSV asked the little boy why he decided to wear the controversial costume it was clear from his answer that he did not know the historical significance of the outfit or it’s level of offensiveness.

The mother says she advised her son before wearing it. Warning him:

“I did tell him that if you do it, you know there’s going to be people talking about you. There’s going to be people saying bad things about you when you do wear it”

Neighbors say they were shocked when they saw the costume. One , Wendi Sprouse said:

‘I just think it’s really sad that a kid is being taught that. That young, because they don’t know any better. You don’t hear that much about it. That little boy roaming around as a Klansman. It’s not okay and you’re offending a lot of people.’

SMH! But get this.  Ms. Brown still supports her decision by revealing the Klu Klux Klan still exists in Craigsville, Virgnia.

‘It’s suppose to be white with white. Black with black. Man with woman and all of that. That’s what the KKK stands for. The KKK every year, raises money to donate to the St. Jude’s,’

Lord help us! Check out video of the mother defending her choice in the video above.
