We love this girl.

Jennifer Lawrence sat down with BBC Newsnight’s Zoe Conway to discuss body image and the sexualization of young women in the entertainment industry. She was asked if she’s given much thought to the actions of fellow stars like Miley Cyrus and the effect they have on girls’ self-image.

“I don’t really worry about it. It’s definitely something that’s just kind of part of this world,” the 23-year-old said. “It is a part of the entertainment industry that sells. Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more.”

She may not condone their actions, but J.Law’s no hater.

“Everybody’s got their own path and they’ve got their own way of finding themselves,” she said. “For some people, that’s how they feel best, that’s how they feel sexy and that’s how they want to perform. To each their own.”

Jen says as long as she’s starring in The Hunger Games, she’s careful with what other roles she takes on.

“We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing, she said. “Girls see enough of this body that we’ll never be able to obtain. It’s an amazing opportunity to rid ourselves of that in this industry. And also, I think it’s better to look strong and healthy. I feel like somebody like Kate Moss running at you with a bow and arrow wouldn’t really be scary.”

Regardless what you think of JLaw’s new hair, you can’t deny that she seriously speaks some truth.
