Russell Simmons has a new YouTube channel called All Def Digital, but you’re not living under a rock, so you know that already.

What you don’t know is this: While at Business Insider’s Ignition 2013 Conference, Russell announced that he and Steve Rifkind – a fellow music entrepreneur who’s mentored some of hip-hop’s most successful artists – plan on expanding ADD into a YouTube multichannel network.

The network will include more channels that focus on music, comedy, and lifestyle. Here’s what Russell – who is in fact the only Russell (at least to us) – had to say during the conference:

“We produce new, interesting content that no one would accept in television.”

After citing ADD’s comedy show “Blackie Sack” as an example, Uncle Rush continued:

“We couldn’t just walk that into HBO.”

The network will also provide the mogul with a means to help those in pursuit of big music careers:

“More people are pursuing music now than ever before. Helping artists find and expand on their passions is what makes me happy. All Def Digital is my chance. We’re doing this because we love it. Hollywood is more segregated than Jerry f***ing Springer. We want to create content that’s inspiring to new America.”

Stay tuned for more All Def Digital news to come – Russell always has something big up his sleeve.
