Taryn Manning, one of the stars of Netflix’s hit series Orange is the New Black, recently revealed that Rosie O’Donnell is hoping to land a role on the show.
Taryn, who plays Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Dogget – the show’s token Jesus-freak – claims Rosie only wants a small role on the series.
“Rosie O’Donnell, who loves OITNB, expressed her desire to be an extra for a day,” Manning said in an interview with Radar Online.
There is no word yet on whether or not it will actually happen, but Taryn is rooting for her, saying Rosie would be one of her “dream guests.”
Taryn kept her lips sealed on any other details about the show’s highly anticipated second season, which is currently in production. When the first season ended, viewers were left wondering the fate of Manning’s character after a fight went too far.
“Without giving anything away, I think anyone who gets their ass kicked would go through some changes,” Manning said.
Though she refused to let loose any details about the upcoming season, she did reveal some details about personal obstacles she’s faced while getting into the role.
“The most difficult part for me is how radically different we are, morals and all. I have invested a lot of time researching and getting into the mind of this character – sometimes it is hard to separate, leave set and leave the character behind for the day,” she said.
She also says that the severe make-under she has to undergo to get into character creates a challenge for her.
Taryn’s character won’t be the only one going through some major changes this season. Alex Vause, played by Laura Prepon, will appear in only a few episodes this season.
