A man from a village in South France has been accused of killing a 90-year-old man and pulling his heart and tongue out.
According to AFP, the 26 year old man, who was homeless, made his way into the victim’s house and killed him by striking him with a metal object on the head.
According to initial statements from investigators the suspect was responding “to messages or voices in his head”, set fire to the body and then extracted his victim’s heart and tongue to cook and eat them.
The site reports:
Police discovered the calcinated body of the victim with an open wound clearly visible on his side, and a bit of cooked meat on a plate with white beans taken from the old man’s fridge.
Disgustingly enough, the story isn’t too far off from Hannibal Lecter, the fictional character from Silence Of The Lambs, who killed his victim and ate their organs with beans.
By the time police arrived, the suspect had already left the house but was finally caught around midnight after he entered another house and was chased out by barking dogs and the owner.
