At least 15 people were shot in Chicago between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, over the course of seven hours.

Another three were injured over the weekend, bringing the toll to 18. Eleven of those shootings happened over a three-hour stretch in the early morning hours, according to NBC.

The weekend’s latest shooting took place around 4 a.m. Sunday. Two 21-year-old men were shot in the 3500 block of West Douglas Boulevard after two men walked up to a group they were standing in and fired shots, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.

The two injured men were driving to Mount Sinai Hospital by friends in good condition. One man as shot in the ankle and another was shot in the thigh, police said.

Thirty minutes earlier, a man was wounded in an attempted robbery, police said.

A 48-year-old man was entering a home in the 7800 block of South Burnham Avenue when he was approached by two armed men intent on robbing him, Estrada said. The three men engaged in a struggle and the 48-year-old man was shot in the shoulder.

At 2:20 a.m., three people were injured when a dark-colored SUV drove up in the 5100 block of West Maypole Avenue and exited with handguns. And 20 minutes later, a 32-year-old man was shot in the head in the 1600 block of 46th Place. He remains in critical condition.

Earlier, around 1:30 a.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in the leg while walking in the 7300 block of North Campbell Avenue. Fifteen minutes earlier, three people were shot in the 7600 block of South Ingleside Avenue. Police believe that shooting was gang-related.

The shootings continued:

On Saturday, around 9:50 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot by a masked man.

Just before 9 p.m., three people were shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway. The three people were on Interstate 94 northbound near 95th Street.

They drove themselves to St. Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center where they were being treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to state police.

Earlier Saturday, around 4:15 a.m., a man was shot in the 900 block of West Grand Avenue.

Police said a 29-year-old man was driving eastbound down the block with two friends when another vehicle drove up alongside the car and an offender fired several shots.

The man drove to the 1300 block of West Lake where he parked his car and an acquaintance drove him to Rush Hospital for treatment.

The Chicago Fire Department later transported him to Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest, abdomen and arm, according to authorities. He was last listed in good condition.

Less than an hour earlier, a 21-year-old man was shot in the 4100 block of South Western Avenue.

On Friday, a 17-year-old man died after he was shot a day earlier.
