Kardashian momager Kris Jenner is revealing everything you ever wanted to know about the inner-workings of the family’s reality TV show. Jenner was forced to take the stand in a defamation case filed against her and her children by Ellen Kardashian, the wife of the late Robert Kardashian.
Court documents filed in the case reveal the real mastermind behind Keeping Up with the Kardashians. According to Jenner, the family has little say over what scenes from the show make the final cut. The family sits down with producers Bunim-Murray Productions, Inc. and provide “comments and suggestions,” but she insists they are not responsible for the editing.
“I hold the position of President of Jenner Communications, Inc.,” Jenner said. “Jenner Communications, Inc. is and acts as the management company for the Kardashian/Jenner/Odom/Disick families. JCI contracts to provide the personal services of myself to E! for the show. JCI is not a producer of, not does it receive and producer credits for or related to, the show.”
“JCI, myself and my family members, that are the subject of the show, are not responsible for the editing or production of the show.”
According to Radar Online, one episode of the show in particular has Ellen up in arms. Ellen is suing Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob Kardashian, along with their mother, for defamation, purposely inflicting emotional distress, civil harassment, a civil conspiracy to defame and the public disclosure of private facts.
According to Kardashian, in episode two of the eighth season of the E! hit series, “the Kardashians repeatedly attributed highly incendiary and provocative statements about Kris Jenner’s fitness as a mother to Ellen when they were in fact made by Robert Kardashian about his ex-wife and their mother.”
Kim also took the stand to defend herself and her family against Ellen’s claims.
“I was present at the July 27, 2003 wedding of Plaintiff to my father,” she said. “Prior to my father’s wedding with Plaintiff, my father told me that he was diagnosed with stage-four esophageal cancer. I understand that my father was terminally ill.”
“Based on my observations and interactions with my father, I believe that he was suffering from extreme mental and physical fatigue and that he was not fully aware of his surround that day. Based on my knowledge of my father over my lifetime, it was apparent to me that his mental state was compromised and I believed it was due to his illness and medications.”
A judge has yet to make a ruling on the Kardashian-Jenner bid to have the lawsuit thrown out.
During a radio call-in with The Kyle And Jackie O Show in Sydney, Australia, Khloe confirmed that her mother and step-father Bruce Jenner “are separated” and that they have been “living apart for maybe like a year now.”
She says the split came as no surprise to the older Kardashians.
“It wasn’t some huge shock for the older kids.”
“Like I even said on the show, ‘Once you guys put that much space in between you guys, like, I don’t think you will ever move back together,'” she said. “Because you kind of get comfortable in that space. So I wasn’t for him moving out in the first place. I just kind of saw it going down this road.”
“They have a harder time kind of understanding it,” Khloe revealed. “They were like, ‘Well, why don’t you guys just get a divorce then?!'”
As for claims that Kris is ready to move on, Khloe says Bruce and Kris are “not looking to be with other people right now. I just think they’re happier being apart.”
Khlo also claims that the separation has made their relationship much healthier.
“They’re nicer to each other now,” she said. “My mom could get frustrated with him very quickly. Or he would always want to play gold and be gone.”
We’ll keep you updated on the latest in the Kardashian/Jenner saga.
Meanwhile, Khloe has been having lots of fun promoting the Kardashian line down under and has made friends with some locals. Local animals that is.
