As if fat shaming hasn’t already reached enough height in the fashion world, it’s transcended to the place women go to make them feel a little more beautiful: the salon.

According to a disturbing report by The Sun, a London-based salon is charging women who are a dress size 12 or larger (which is smaller than the average British woman’s size 16) an extra 5 pounds (which is about $8) for waxing – and women that are a size 18+ could even be charged 10 pounds more (about $16).

Sounds like insanity, right? Well, according to She Finds, The Sun sent a plus size model in to check the scene:

According to a plus-size model that was sent into the salon by The Sun to investigate, the owner relayed that the “fat tax” is used for additional waxing supplies needed for the larger leg. “I know maybe for you it is not very nice, but I use more stuff,” the owner said to the model.

Kind of rude and insulting, especially when you take into consideration that this fat tax is being enforced without incident.

What’s your take?
