Last night we were deeply saddened to learn about the death of Paul Walker but the family, fans and friends of the driver of the Porsche is also in mourning.

The driver has been identified as former race car driver, Roger Rodas who was also the actor’s financial advisor.

According to reports, the pair had been friends and had been racing for several years before they began working together on Walker’s finances.

Rodas also helped Walker establish his Reach Out Worldwide charity, after creating his own foundation to support widows and orphans in his native El Salvador.

Rodas as expected also had a strong interest in cars, as the CEO of Always Evolving, the car customization shop where Saturday’s charity event had been taking place.

Just Jared reports:

The charity event for Reach Out Worldwide was being held at the company’s headquarters in Santa Clarita that afternoon when he went for a drive with Paul in a Porsche Carrera GT, which happens to be one of Roger‘s favorite cars. Both of them died in the crash after the car exploded into flames.

The friends had met when they raced cars together at the Pirelli World Challenge series years ago.
