When Miley Cyrus does good, she does unattainable vintage Chanel levels of good, but when she is bad, she is foam finger latex bodysuit bad.
For those reasons and more, Miley Cyrus’ sartorial accolades have been rewarded and reprimanded equally, landing her spots on TIME Magazine’s Best and Worst dressed lists. That’s so Miley.
The publication explained their rankings (Miley’s Marc Jacobs glittery gown landing her on the best, and her now-infamous latex VMA outfits landing her on the worst) with the following statement:
Miley’s schizophrenic fashion this year has landed her on both our best and worst dressed lists. For the VMAs performance heard round the globe, Cyrus initially wore a furry gray leotard with a teddy bear graphic before stripping down to reveal a nude-colored latex bikini. Leaving aside her suggestive dancing, this two-piece serves no other stylistic purpose apart from showing a lot of skin.
Kim Kardashian’s floral Met Ball gown by Givenchy snagged her the second spot on the worst dressed list, where she was in company with Zosia Mamet’s Honor gown, as well as Justin Bieber’s gas mask. On the other end of things, some style favorites like Rihanna, Solange and Jennifer Lawrence were comfortably perched on the best dressed list.
