Talk about catching a break.

BASE jumper Thayer Healey is lucky to be alive after an equipment failure resulted in a nasty fall as he attempted a cliff dive off the side of “Wall Street” near Moab, Utah.

After his parachute failed to deploy properly, he was sent spinning out of control down the cliff’s side, banging into rocks jutting out from the side, while trying to regain control of the potentially deadly situation.

And yes, the entire fall was caught on his head camera, which you can watch above.

He made it out alive, but did get a bit scratched up:

“Compression Fracture of the T12 Vertebra, 5 stitches to the eye, 6 stitches to the chin, severely sprained Back, wrist and hand. multiple bruised areas,” he wrote in the video’s description field.

Healey was released after one day in the hospital and is in good condition.
