We shed silent tears when it was announced that Orlando Bloom and wife Miranda Kerr split just two years after going half on a baby with the arrival of their son Flynn. But thanks to Miranda’s latest interview in Harper’s Bazaar Australia, we’re learning that the pair is still cordial and taking this co-parenting thing pretty seriously.

The sultry shoot by Terry Richardson features the former VS Angel in nothing but a caped coat on the cover of the magazine, but in the interview, Miranda opens up for the first time about her split from husband Orlando.

On her separation:

“It’s difficult for anyone to go through a separation, whether it’s on a public scale or not. It was important for us long-term to preserve our friendship and the dynamic of being loving parents to Flynn so we dealt with everything openly and honestly.”

On their mutual respect for one another:

“We respect each other and with respect comes understanding. When there’s understanding, I guess everything is a little more harmonious. We’re still very big parts of each other’s lives. There’s no reason for us to be anything but a united front. We still love and care for each other deeply.”

On spending the holidays close to Bloom:

“I’m not coming home to Australia for summer because Orlando is working six days a week starring in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway. And it’s not fair to take Flynn and go without him. We’re trying to do our best to support each other.”

The full issue hits stands next week.
