What is the Academy trying to say? That is the question.
After the Grammy nominations concert this past weekend, everyone’s been waiting on a response from Kanye West for being snubbed in the “Album Of The Year” category.
Yeezus has earned Kanye two nods this award season, but didn’t earn the “Bound 2” rapper a nod in the “Album Of The Year” category despite coming in number one on most album of the year lists. During a recent Yeezus concert, ‘Ye asked:
“And Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list, but only gets two nominations from the Grammys. What are they trying to say?”
Surprisingly, Kanye posed this question in very calm voice. No yelling. No grandiose declarations. Kanye currently has 21 Grammys under his belt, so yes, not getting nominated for “Album Of The Year” sucks, but he has dozens of other Grammys to keep him warm at night.
