Rock on.

Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary grunge band will be inducted along with five other acts like KISS, Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Linda Ronstadt, and Cat Stevens.

CNN reports:

“The legacy of Nirvana, who almost unwittingly brought grunge into the mainstream in the early 1990s, has been described as “one of the most influential in rock & roll history,” by Allmusic.com’s Stephen Thomas Erlewine.”

Over the years, Nirvana has sold over 20 million records – despite Kurt Cobain’s untimely death in 1994.

Nirvana will be joining a long list of iconic artists, including a few of last year’s inductees like Donna Summer, Public Enemy, Quincy Jones, and Randy Newman.
