Olivia Wilde and her growing baby bump stopped by the set of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno last night to discuss her recent movie role and some interesting details surrounding her pregnancy.

The Her actress revealed all the bizarre things people do to pretend she’s not pregnant, exclusive details about her little bundle of joy and which former “badass pregnant lady” she admires.

According to Olivia, despite confirming her pregnancy multiple times and her now-obvious baby bump, people often go out of their way to pretend they don’t know.

“That’s the worst thing in the world – when you congratulate a non-pregnant woman on her pregnancy,” she said. “I find that people will go to such great lengths to not mention it.”

OK, we get it – her bump is in its early stages, but hey! It’s still pretty obvious.

“Even when you are clearly – like, I feel like I’m clearly pregnant – people will be like, ‘Hey, would you like a glass of whiskey? Would you like to get on this roller coaster?'” she laughed. “And I go, ‘Oh, well, I’m actually pregnant.’ And they go, ‘What?! Unless someone’s watching you give birth, I don’t think they want to make the wrong call.”

The conversation then moved to the question on everyone’s mind – the sex of the baby.

“It’s human,” Wilde joked. “We feel good about that.”

Olivia may be new to the mommy-game, but she’ll be alright, thanks to her awesome mama Leslie Cockburn. Cockburn is a former producer for 60 Minutes and a total badass. According to Olivia, she’s got some pretty huge shoes to fill, but we’re pretty confident in her abilities.

“I have a great mom,” she said. “She’s a good example of how to be a strong badass pregnant lady. But she sets the standards pretty high.”

“She went all over the world for 60 Minutes, for ABC News, for Frontline, for years. So, when I’m worrying about like, ‘Am I allowed to get on the treadmill?,’ my mom is like, ‘I was in war zones with you guys,'” she told Jay Leno.

“The way most moms tell a cute story about something that happened at, like, a ballet recital, my mom likes to tell the story of when she was eight months pregnant with me, and we were on a plane that had a bomb somewhere in the Middle East,” Wilde explained. “And she’s like, ‘Remember, you almost didn’t arrive because of the bomb?’ And then, you know, they landed, they evacuated the plane, there was no bombing. But I’m like, ‘That’s a terrifying story. Don’t share that with out new friends.'”
