So this happened.
A billboard in India’s Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu prominently features the image of Morgan Freeman, although it was meant to honor late South African leader Nelson Mandela.
“We should be proud that we were part of an era when they lived,” reads the Tamil-language sign.
Now the Indian businessman who financed the billboard is the laughing-stock of the internet.
“We will replace it with the correct picture of Mandela,” he assured the AFP, adding that he didn’t know how the mix-up occurred, but that it was the designer who was to blame.
I mean, he was close, right? Morgan did play Mandela in 2009’s Invictus. But on second thought…nope.
Not all old, black men look alike. FYI.
