Jeffrey Pollack, one of the producers of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and director of Above The Rim, was found dead on Dec. 23 in Hermosa Beach, California.

He was 54-years-old.

According to the Manhattan Beach Patrol, Pollack was found by an unidentified man on the beach Greenbelt, dressed in jogging clothes and carrying an iPod that was still playing The Eagles when police arrived. They do not suspect foul play — it is believed Pollack died of natural causes. An autopsy will determine a specific cause.

Pollack had a heavy hand in creating The Fresh Prince — the series was actually inspired by his close friend and business partner Benny Medina’s experiences living with Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. while attending Beverly Hills High School.

He also directed Lost & Found, starring David Spade, as well as Booty Call.

May he rest in peace.
