Resolution number one in the New Year — bringing lunch from home will save you money and run-in’s with dead animals.

A Pret A Manger sandwich shop in Manhattan is under fire after a woman found a small dead frog in her salad. Now the restaurant chain is looking into how the mini amphibian got into her meal, however, that isn’t exactly clear.

The coworker of the customer, an editor at the Wall Street Journal, posted the critter in her friend’s lettuce on Instagram.

Kathryn Lurie, said on Twitter her co-worker wanted to remain anonymous but that “she was pretty shaken, understandably.”

Obviously.

Pret said in a statement:

“Our lettuce is sourced from farms that do not use any pesticides on its produce, therefore organic matter does very rarely manage to pass through our production process. We are currently looking into this issue to make every effort that this does not happen again.”

In the meantime…Potbelly’s anyone?
