News was just announced this week that the popular A&E show Duck Dynasty will be making a return, despite the controversy around Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments in GQ Magazine.

Last night, however, his son Willie spoke out on the controversy for the first time during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

The brains behind the duck business went on Fox News and spoke on his father’s comments, as well as assured viewers that he was at home, and away from the party scene.

He told the outlet:

‘A&E and us are fine.’

‘We are just glad to be back at work and ready to break in a new year and start making fun shows

‘We are ready to move on and we have all learned a lot.’

‘I’m going take better care of my beard this year than last year. More lotions and oils. I need to get back to the beard.’

‘Hopefully my employees will keep up with more duck calls while I’m way. Nobody has been putting together duck calls since I’ve been gone. I have to get back and crack the whip.’

His wife Korie continued:

‘We’ve been so blessed in 2013 that you know, I think I just hope it continues. We’re going to stick together as a family, and doing what we’re doing, and giving God the glory.’

Since the news of the show’s comeback, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination has said that they believe the network to be greedy in order to capitalize off the hit show.

The new season is set to premiere in January, with Phil in every episode since it was filmed before his controversial statements.

Hmm, do you guys think the show should go on?
