A lot of times Nick Cannon might be the bud of a joke, or the one cracking the jokes…but some serious matters he can’t be funny with.
After this whole “knock-out game” has become a craze in the streets, the Wild N’ Out host doesn’t find much about it to be very humorous.
He recently went off in a series of tweets, where he revealed that he used to be a former gang member, and saw the effects of it all, which led him to become the guy he is today.
He said in the tweets:
We need to give our young people something to “fight” for!

I was a kid when not given direction I ran astray, but guidance gave me something to “fight” for.

Guidance has to come from someone we respect and admire.

Feral fire is dangerous but a harnessed flame can light up the world #DamnIShouldWriteABook

I think everyone that has ever played the “Knock Out Game” should have to enlist into the Armed Forces.

I thought being a gang member was the coolest shit ever until I got shot at! I been okay with being corny ever since #RealTalk

Those kids aren’t lost causes. I used to be a knucklehead who did dumb shit because I was “bored”. I’m forever in debt to those I harmed.

People ask me why I care so much about young people, because I was on my way down a dark path until someone steered me toward success

At the end of the day I learned it’s all about self worth. If you care about yourself, you will care about others.

Nick definitely brings up a great point, and we’re glad he can use his own past to hopefully inspire others to make a change!
What do you guys think of Nick’s revelation?
