A Russian man, who is 19 years old, was charged this past week with possession of weapons of mass destruction in Pennsylvania.

According to CNN, authorities discovered a homemade bomb, along with some bomb-making items, when they investigated an operation to grow marijuana. Vladislav Miftakhov was linked to both cases.

The site reports:

According to a criminal complaint, police found one pound of atomized magnesium and one pound of Chinese potassium perchlorate along with a package labeled potassium nitrate powder. They also found fuses and several containers of compressed air.

When asked what he was going to do with two devices that were found with exposed fuses, Miftakhov said “he was going to blow things up,” the complaint alleges.

Miftakhov later said he only intended to set devices off in a field and wasn’t going to blow anything up, the document says.

A man who lived in the same building as Vladislav Miftakhov made a statement that he believed  him to be the “weirdest individual he had ever met”, but didn’t think he would do anything dangerous.

Yikes! Hopefully there aren’t any more weapons of bombs planted anywhere else. We’re thankful the teen was captured before any harm was done.
