An Opera singer in Nashville is out of a job after a botched child-birth surgery.

Amy Herbst, who is best known for performing at the Nashville Opera Company, filed a lawsuit against Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital earlier this month, in which she claims that because of a botched episiotomy, she can no longer sing without farting.

According to Gawker:

“The surgery, which cuts the tissue between the anus and vagina to help the delivery of the baby, did not heal properly, leaving the soprano with a ‘complete breakdown of the episiotomy and perineum and the external sphincter is disrupted and the vagina and rectum are basically connected without any perineal body.'”

Wow, that’s unbelievable… and very unfortunate.

Herbst’s attorney informed The Army Times:

“She is suffering though a very embarrassing and very significant injury, and frankly, the prognosis of a fully successful repair is pretty low.”

That stinks.. and all we have to say to this gassy situation is:
