Last night, President Obama delivered his annual State of the Union address and there was no shortage of standing ovations, presidential promises and, surprisingly, tears.

On the flip side, there were also those moments that made us go, hmmm. Like House Speaker John Boehner’s perpetual side-eye and the GOP’s decision to invite members of Duck Dynasty to the address just weeks after Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments.

Nevertheless, it was just what we thought it would be — both entertaining and informative. Here are the must-see moments from last night’s State of the Union address:

Obama Makes Mad Men Reference To Denounce Unequal Pay For Women in Workforce:

We know he’s more of a Breaking Bad fan anyway, but that still didn’t keep the President from using the ’60s-themed show to get his point across. “Women deserve equal pay for equal work…It is time to do away with workplace policies that belong in a Mad Men episode.” Tell ’em!

Joe Biden Steals The Show:

Per usual. That smile and the “gotcha” gestures get us every single time. We wonder who he was pointing out…

Obama Urges Congress To Pass Immigration Reform This Year:

The President called both parties out last night, contending that if they are serious about the economy, they need to be serious about immigration reform as well. Turns out House Republicans are meeting this week and are expected to outline their principles for an immigration overhaul. Let’s see how the Democrats take it.

Boehner Is Not Impressed & His Tan Is On 1 Million:

But is he ever impressed? And with the polar vortex bearing down on much of America, we have to ask, where did he get all that melanin?

War Hero Cory Remsburg Gets A Standing Ovation:

In one of the more emotional moments of last night’s address, President Obama honored Sgt. First Class Cory Remsburg, a war hero who was injured in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan during his 10th deployment. Remsburg has undergone dozens of surgeries and rehabilitation, and remains blind in one eye, but he continues to keep pushing. And as Obama pointed out, he is a symbol of the price we pay for freedom and democracy. “Cory is here tonight. And like the Army he loves, like the America he serves, Sergeant First Class Cory Remsburg never gives up, and he does not quit. My fellow Americans, men and women like Cory remind us that America has never come easy. Our freedom, our democracy, has never been easy.”

First Lady Michelle Obama Shines In Alaia:

Here she is with Cory Remsburg…and they both look FLAWLESS.

Obama Talks Education…And Those Pesky Student Loans:

Aside from wanting to ensure that every child has access to preschool, Obama announced that the administration will connect 15,000 schools and 20 million students with high-speed broadband in the next two years. Another goal? Improve access for low-income students and lower costs. And loans? “At a time when Americans owe more in tuition debt than credit card debt, this Congress needs to stop the interest rates on student loans from doubling in July.” That’s exactly what we want to hear, Mr. President.

Obama Shuts Down Climate Change Critics:

It’s here and it’s real. That’s the message Obama gave last night when he talked about the clean energy initiative, confirming that we will be in big trouble if the energy policy doesn’t change. “The shift to a cleaner energy economy won’t happen overnight, and it will require tough choices along the way. But the debate is settled. Climate change is a fact. And when our children’s children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did.”

Obama Talks Health Care & Congress Laughs:

Rude, much? After Obama gave this spill…“One last point on financial security. For decades few things exposed hard-working families to economic hardship more than a broken health care system. And in case you haven’t heard, we’re in the process of fixing that…” you could hear the applause (and why not? Over 3 million have signed up for health care since the Obamacare marketplace launched), but you can also hear the jeers. Give it a listen.

This Duck Dynasty Guy Was Invited By The GOP:

Talk about sending a message…

Obama Gives A Shout Out To Single Moms:

Because they ROCK! Here’s what he said: “The point is, there are millions of Americans outside Washington who are tired of stale political arguments, and are moving this country forward. They believe, and I believe, that here in America, our success should depend not on accident of birth, but the strength of our work ethic and the scope of our dreams.  That’s what drew our forebears here. It’s how the daughter of a factory worker is CEO of America’s largest automaker; how the son of a barkeeper is Speaker of the House; how the son of a single mom can be President of the greatest nation on Earth.”

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers Delivers A Religious Rebuttal:

And the internet wasn’t receptive. At all.

At least she didn’t pull a Marco Rubio.
