As we embark on Black History Month this February, it is important to acknowledge not only the women of our past that have built the way to our future, but the present day pioneers that serve as exemplary examples for the future leaders and women of our world today. This month, we honor our top four LifeStyleHers.

OPRAH

Philanthropist. Television Pioneer. Extraordinary Leader. Oprah, born January 29, 1954, has built an empire and has uplifted, empowered and enlightened millions of people around the world in the process. Her light, wisdom and generous spirit has solidified her as one of the most influential and powerful women of our time. Her example of dreaming big and giving back is in essence the legacy she will leave behind for our future generations.

MICHELLE OBAMA

Born January 17, 1964, our First Lady is not only married to our current president, Barack Obama, but has made history becoming the first African American First Lady of our time.  Our FLOTUS is not only a role model for women around the world advocating for poverty awareness, nutrition and healthy eating, but she has quickly become one of our generation’s most notable fashion icons as well. Mrs. Obama has set a new standard and serves as an inspiration to us all.

BEYONCE

Currently the most powerful woman in the music industry, Beyonce continues to prove time and time again there are no limits to what she can do and that no one can define her. Born September 4, 1981, Beyonce has catapulted to iconic heights and has proven that not only can you be a successful businesswoman and follow your dreams, but that you can also have a solid and healthy marriage, a baby, and more. Beyonce is an example to women all over the world that you can truly have it all, as long as you work hard for it.

JENNIFER HUDSON

Making her debut on the third season of American Idol, although placing 7th, Jennifer Hudson came out the real winner when she later landed a role in Dreamgirls, which in turn won her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, an NAACP Image Award & a Screen Actors Guild Award. Jennifer, born September 12, 1981, has demonstrated extraordinary perseverance through many personal tragedies and her bravery and resilience to keep going and pushing towards her dreams is an example for not only women, but humans all over the world, that regardless of what life places on your path, you can overcome.
